Moissac in France is where my parents have settled for their retirement. It’s in the south west, sort of in between Toulouse and Bordeaux. I love to visit when I can, it really is a beautiful part of the world. They have great markets at the weekend and the town is set by the river Tarn. The Garonne canal runs by the back of my folks house too. The trip here wouldn’t be complete until I’ve eaten my own (increasing) body weight in pain au chocolate, cheese, eclair, baguette, cheese, various cured meats and did I mention cheese? I may consume the odd glass (bottle) of wine too! The main feature of tonight’s tea is a huge round of Mont d’Or cheese baked with some white wine in it!

Travel Photography

I’m always out taking photos when I visit and this trip has been no exception, especially since I’m still getting used to my new Leica M10. It’s been nice to just do some landscape and street photography. So far my M10 has just been an extra camera at weddings, although that’s been great practice for getting used to the rangefinders manual only focusing! I have three lenses for it so far. I only brought two with me on this trip so I’ll talk about the third one another time. I have with me the Leica Elmarit-M 28mm f/2.8 ASPH and also the Summicron-M 50mm f/2.0. I’d like some faster lenses for using at weddings and for portraits but these two are brilliant lenses and a perfect combination for travelling! That said, the best camera is always just the one you have with you! I’ll shut up now as you’re just here for the pictures, right? Here’s a few I’ve taken this weekend.
