Best of 2017
Best of 2017
Highlights might be a better description than best of. ‘Best of’ suggests the ultimate opinion and photography is so subjective. Some like my creative portraits but opinion may even be split there between urban and rural for example. Others might like the real moments I catch at weddings or the locations and details. I know this as I asked a few people help me select the final images out of a shortlist I’d pulled together from the whole year. They all picked different things! It helped me spot a couple of shots I’d overlooked and realigned my opinion on others after realising nobody picked them! In the end I had to go with my gut, my own favourites from the year.
Creative Wedding Photography
It’s been great to reflect on a year that has been my busiest yet, and also my first year doing this full time. 52 couples trusted me to shoot their wedding in 2017 and for that I’ll always be eternally grateful! I feel so lucky I got to meet such a broad spectrum of amazing people and shoot some diverse weddings up and down the whole country (and across the world!) helping me to keep creative. It was far more weddings that I had hoped for and it’s helped me learn and grow, and put into practice lots of new skills I’ve picked up at all the photography events I went to in 2017. They included SNAP! photography festival, The Photography Show and most recently Nine Dots. I’ve made some amazing new friends and I got to shoot a wedding in Lombok, Indonesia!
Holiday time!
There really are too many images to share them all here. I’ve tried to keep it concise! It’s worth remembering that these are just snapshots from the story of peoples weddings. To get a bit more insight into how I tell the stories of peoples weddings using pictures then check out my blog or weddings page to see more from individual weddings. I still have many great weddings from 2017 that I’d like to share on my blog but I got a little busy actually shooting them to keep up to it! It’s going to have to wait a few more months yet though as I’m currently in Hong Kong at the start of a well deserved holiday with my husband John. We still have Taiwan and the Philippines to discover too before coming home. Check out my insta stories for updates as we go along and there’ll be a few blog posts about our trip to come soon too! If you’re planning your wedding at the moment and you’re here because you’re looking for your photographer then I’d love to hear from you!
