Sophisticated Cotswolds Wedding at Elmore Court
Kate and Jack pulled out all the stops for their stunning wedding deep in the Gloucestershire countryside. With views across the Cotswolds, Elmore Court is a Grade II listed mansion in Gloucestershire. Its huge stately rooms, stained glass and extensive grounds were perfect for this sophisticated English wedding.
I shot Kate and Jack’s wedding shortly after a visit to see my niece and nephew who live in Canada. When I was waiting patiently outside Kate’s room for her to get into her dress I heard ‘Uncle Mike’ exclaimed from inside the room and my autopilot took me into the room. Kate was not ready for me and not yet fully dressed! I was not the the Uncle Mike they were referring to!
The mix up was taken in very good humour though and I was lovingly referred to as Uncle Mike for the rest of this wedding!
Stunning Kyha satin wedding dress paired with Hugo Boss suit
And what a wedding it was. Kate pipped for a romantic Kyha satin wedding dress from Isabella’s Closet in Liverpool. She wore her hair in loose waves with long statement pearl earrings, and finished the ensemble with a pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes. To compliment this stylish look, Jack wore a sleek Hugo Boss suit.
Botanical themed wedding
The wedding was visually stunning for a number of reasons. Obviously Kate and Jack are just gorgeous and their joy and love for one another shone through in their wedding photos at Elmore Court.
Also they made great use of colour; there were rich dark greens as a base with pops of pink and purple and orange throughout. Wren and May floral arrangements lined The Hall at this Elmore Court wedding, whilst each of the six bridesmaids wore dresses in shades of green, carrying beautiful Wren and May bouquets. This gave the whole day a beautiful botanical vibe.
Music also played an important part. Sadly, Kate lost her brother Liam last year. He was a talented musician who’d been due to perform at the wedding. Instead, Kate asked her friend and her mother to perform together as she walked down the aisle. It was both poignant and joyful; Kate smiled excitedly as she walked down the aisle with her father to meet Jack.
Dinner and dancing at The Gillyflower
Celebrations took place in The Gillyflower – still part of Elmore Court, but specifically built for ‘dinner and dancing’. It was incredible, with natural light filtering through but also a jaw-dropping light installation centrepiece called ‘Light Shower’ by artist Bruce Munro.
This was the ideal setting for dinner and speeches before the wedding party got underway. There were incredible performances from The Distraction Band, played through a Funktion One soundsystem – which brought everyone to the floor. They danced till late under a single shimmering disco ball.
Wedding photography at Elmore Court
Kate and Jack shared a truly wonderful day with their guests and it was an honour to be part of it. They sent the loveliest response after receiving their photos:
‘Thank you so much for our wedding photos Mike! We absolutely love your fun, candid and colourful style. We can’t recommend you enough.
‘From our first call we felt completely comfortable and at ease, which continued right through to the day. You were brilliant with the guests and we barely noticed you were there capturing all the amazing moments. Thank you once again for helping make our day so special!’
