Deaf Institute Wedding Manchester | Jo & Gareth
The Deaf Institute Manchester
The Deaf Institute is in a landmark building on Grosvenor street in Manchester’s city centre. It’s a beautiful old music hall that’s also a bar, kitchen and live music venue. To quote from their website you can hire the space for weddings, raves and film screenings! Still two out of the three on that list to go for me. I live in Manchester and have previously eaten and seen a band play at The Deaf Institute. I knew what a great space it would be for a wedding and photography when Gareth and Jo got in touch about their plans, for their Deaf Institute wedding.
Music Hall Wedding
I absolutely loved their music themed plans. From the music hall itself to the vinyl table plan to the gig posters they had made at the reception. There were the Bowie lyrics “put on your red shoes and dance the blues” at the back of the little stage at the reception. The first song was that very David Bowie song ‘Let’s Dance’. Gareth and Jo had decided not to do a first dance. They did however get caught up in the moment and ended up on stage as you can see in the pictures later! Upon arriving at the reception wedding venue Islington Mill they also had a few moments to themselves to listen to some vinyl and have a little dance. It was a perfect union and I was honored to shoot the day and be their Manchester Wedding Photographer.
Jo’s beautiful wedding dress is the Cleo Gown from Rue de Seine which she managed to find in her size on eBay. Gareth’s jacket and waistcoat were from Noose and Monkey
