Penmon Priory Wedding | Charlottle & Matt
When Charlotte and Matt got in touch about me photographing their wedding at Penmon Priory, I got really excited. I’d been to Anglesey on holiday before and knew how beautiful it was. Anglesey is 276 square miles of pure beauty! On the south of the island looking across the Menai Straits you can see Snowdonia and the surrounding hills. This alone was enough to get me excited about their marriage in North Wales. The icing on the cake though was where they were to have their ceremony. With the site dating back to the 6th century, and parts of the current building from the 13th century, Penmon Priory is steeped in history. But for me that comes only second to it’s sheer beauty. It really did make my experience of shooting this Penmon Priory Wedding that little bit more special.
Penmon Priory Wedding
Charlotte is from Anglesey so having such a stong connection to the area, one of her favourite images is because her grans house is in the background. It also meant that the beautiful Penmon Priory was local for her. Matt was dressed in his RAF uniform which, although he was never based in Anglesey, seemed to somehow make sense. The RAF have a strong connection to Anglesey having had their Valley base there since 1941.
Beaumaris Castle made a great stop for photos on route to The Bulkeley Hotel where the wedding breakfast and reception was held. There was one final opportunity for photos. A little walk down the pier was in order before I had to conclude my day shooting wedding photography at Penmon Priory on Anglesey.
Love the light house and pier photos especially. Some great scenes and textures. Lovely job Mike!
