Moments from 2017
2017 for me will be remembered mostly for being my first full year as self employed as a wedding photographer. It was a bumper year too and I ended up shooting more weddings that I had hoped and I thought possible (Long may that continue!). As busy as it was, I still managed to get out and about with my camera a few times when not working. I shot a wedding in Indonesia and managed to make a little holiday out of it, conquering Mount Rinjani and relaxing on the Gili Islands too. I also visited Ireland and France.
Developing my Photography
I attended the SNAP! Photography Festival early on in the year and made a ton of new friends and learnt so much. I also went to NineDots Gathering so it was a big year for my professional development as well. I’d like to think my photography has improved, it’s certainly changing and my business is developing too. I’ve definitely been inspired by street photography recently and I think that is starting to show through in my work now. There’s still so much to learn though and I’m very excited for all the great opportunities I have lined up in my diary for the year ahead.
Snapshot from the Year
This post is just a random snapshot from what I shot last year, just excluding weddings. There’s a separate post for that. Some of these I’ve included because I think it’s a great photograph and some are here because of what the moment meant to me and there’s a few just for fun!
