Welcome to the best place to find super-friendly, experienced, unposed, fun and natural Wedding Photography! You should find lots of info below, but the focus will always be on you just enjoying your wedding, being yourselves and having the BEST time! Your photos are going to show your true personalities and really capture not just how the day looked but how great the day felt too! Come as you are and be yourself!

Relaxed

I've been told many times that I'm a calming influence. I'll mingle, watch and observe as if I'm one of your guests. It'll feel more like you have a friend at your wedding than a photographer.

Natural

I capture life as it happens. Real moments of real people. You are enough, just be yourself! Your focus will be on having a good time with your nearest and dearest.

Unposed

Photos of the two of you can be a simple as just going for a short little walk. Couples are often very thankful of a few moments alone, I call it a little time out rather than 'portraits'

“We booked Mike after seeing his work from a friend’s wedding. The images were mesmerising. We absolutely adore how natural the photos are and his clever use of light. Book with Mike if you want the most down-to-earth, unassuming, friendly photographer, you’ll probably ever meet- we had so much positive feedback from guests. ” Beulah & Harvey

“You’re such a lovely guy and we really loved working with you, thank you for putting us at such ease, it really did enable you to truly capture the enormous amount of fun that we all had! Everyone’s first reaction to the photos is ‘look how fun it was and how happy everyone is!’ Anyway just thank you, our photographs are everything we could have wished for!” Emma & Rob

“Mike’s brides and grooms looked really relaxed and it became clear when chatting to Mike that he was the reason why! Words cannot describe how pleased we are with our photos of the day! He gave us a perfect mix of photos and most importantly our guests having a blast! Dad said ‘I knew you’d picked the right man for the job when I saw the first photo of the reception space – If he can make my shed look as good as a ballroom then you’re sorted!’.” Ceri & Nick

“Personally we couldn’t of been any happier with how you handled our day. We wanted a discreet, and relaxed approach to our photos which would tell the story of our day through the photos – something we thought you nailed!!” Dale & Charlotte

Award winning!

My wedding photography has won awards with 'This Is Reportage' & 'Fearless Photographers'

Second Shooter

£395

I can't be in two places at once but if a couple choose to be apart in the morning I can sometimes spend time with both if they're close by. But with a second photographer both stories can be followed unbroken until the ceremony. Moments can then be caught from different viewpoints and for larger weddings (100+ guests) it helps increase the opportunities for capturing candid moments of your guests. (price average is £350 but depends on location and hours)

Destination Weddings

£3995+

Who doesn't love to travel? I've been lucky enough to shoot weddings in Sweden, Iceland, Indonesia, Italy, Portugal, Spain & Canada. I can cover most weddings in Europe for £3995 all in. I'm happy to quote for further afield too. I will often cover a little something extra the night before or the day after a wedding abroad too. Maybe a family meal, a portrait shoot or 'trash the dress'

Wedding Albums

£295+

There's nothing quite like seeing photos printed! I offer a lovely Coffee Table Album for £345 which is the most popular option with my couples. Extra copies for parents are just £195 too. The first copy of a Coffee Table Album is just £295 when you pre pay for it at the time your wedding balance is due. I do also offer Fine Art Albums. These are FANCY! They have more options than is in Madonna's wardrobe. From £1k +

WEDDING FAQs

• We don't know how much coverage we need yet?

No problem! You don't need to make a final decision before booking. You can pay the booking fee to secure your wedding day, then decide anytime before your final balance is due (28 days before the wedding).

• How many photos do we get?

This is an organic process. You just get what's worth keeping from the day. I don't cap it and I don't inflate it. As a guide my galleries average around 500 images from a full day.

• Do you take family group shots?

If you want them, yes! Less is more here but I have a few tricks to help this part of the day go smoothly. We will make a plan in your planning meeting, the clue's in the name!

• How long before we receive our photos?

You'll receive your full gallery within 8 weeks but I do share 10-15 sneak peek previews about a week after your wedding.

• How do we receive the photos?

Photos are delivered via a beautiful online gallery. (ask me for an example) From there you can download the photos plus easily share them with friends and family. There's a print shop attached for convenience, you can use that to easily create your thank you cards!

• What equipment do you use?

All my kit fits into one shoulder bag, so I'm very mobile at weddings! Perfect for when you want me to join you on the wedding bus or there's multiple locations accessed on foot. I use two Canon 5D MKIV's and I have a set of Canon pro L series prime lenses. I bring one flash too but that's mostly just for the dancefloor. These cameras record to dual memory cards for safety.

• Are you insured?

I do weddings full time and I have a full business insurance policy, covering me for professional indemnity, public liability plus loss and damage to my equipment.

• Do you work alone?

Yes, I mostly work alone, like a nimble photography ninja weaving around your wedding day in super stealth mode. But you can book to a have a second photographer if you wish. I haven't quite mastered how to be in two places at once but I'm working on it.

• Do you travel for weddings and is there a charge?

I will work anywhere, I love to travel and discover new places. Any coverage level within a 2hr drive of Manchester is always included. Any UK mainland wedding booking 8hrs+ coverage, travel is also included. For everything else I only charge what's required for petrol and accommodation, if needed. If I'm already shooting in your area either side of your date, your wedding is midweek or off season, I may decide to waive the travel charge, so please do check with me.

• Do you photoshop or airbrush images?

I hope you've noticed that my style is quite natural. I have a 'come as you are' approach to my work and I think ALL people are beautiful as they are now. So I don't airbrush or reshape people in photoshop! But at the same time I appreciate the need for us all to want to feel we're at our best. There has been a couple of instances a guest of honour has had a blemish appear at the last minute, that has affected how they feel about themselves. Make up, good light (and acceptance) can do magical things in this situation. But if this happens to you, I will remove impermanent blemishes on a small handful of your favourite images, as a last resort.

• Does unposed mean you don't do portraits?

I find the best way to help couples relax in front of the camera is to have no rules! Most couples still want a few shots of the two of them and if you want a couple of shots smiling to camera, that's fine too! I call it a 'time out' rather than portraits because couples appreciate these beautiful moments together to catch up during what is often a fast paced day. It can be as simple as going for a short little walk and having a chat. I can point out where the good light is or what would make an interesting scene but that's often where my direction ends, if you're wanting natural portraits. I can give a little bit of direction, but only if I'm asked, like I said, there's no rules! This way it's ends up being slightly different for each couple, tailored to what will suit them best in the moment. But if you want to go 100% 'fly on the wall' documentary style, with no portraits and no formal groups, no problem!

• What is a RAW file and can we have them?

A RAW file is the basic photo data file that the camera records. Unprocessed, they can look grey, flat, lifeless and either too dark or too light. I can take between 3k-6k photos at an average wedding and I promise you that going through them all will fatigue you and take away from the pure magic of reliving your wedding day through the high quality photos I select for your gallery. I include a photo from every good scene and moment that I capture at weddings, so you won't be missing anything by not seeing the RAWs. If after you have received your gallery, you still wish to see them though, I sell the full set of RAWs for £500. (I only keep the unused RAWs for three months after a wedding). Be prepared for pictures of my feet and my lunch.

• What if you get ill before our wedding?

Should the unthinkable happen at the last minute, I will be reaching out to the multiple wedding photographer communities that I'm a part of, to find you a suitable replacement. Out of the 100's of wedding photographers I'm connected with, there is always someone of similar experience and style available. This thankfully hasn't happened to me so far in my 13 years shooting weddings. But I've been the photographer covering for someone at the very last minute, more than once! There is a great sense of community in the industry.

• Do we need to feed you?

It's not a requirement but it is beneficial! I usually take a short break if and when you and your guests eat. I don't need to be seated with your guests. Most venues will have a quiet spot for me and If I'm provided with food it saves me having to leave the area to grab a bite and I can stay close-ish to the action, then I'll be in the best position to jump up with my cameras if something impromptu happens during your wedding breakfast! If I've already been on my feet for many hours and you have food trucks or a buffet, be prepared for me to be first in line! Not always just because I'm hungry but also the sooner I've eaten the sooner I can return to getting you awesome wedding photos!

• How does image copyright work?

Don't worry. It's no different with me than any other wedding photographer. Copyright (in basic terms of the law) stays with the photographer, but you get an unrestricted licence to print and share your images for personal use. Unless otherwise discussed, I'm free to use the images to promote my wedding photography online, on my website and social media channels. For anything else, I would be seeking your permission.

• Will you visit our venue before the wedding?

In short, I don't need to. After doing weddings for 13 years I'm able to think on my feet and react to the environment and available light in front of me right now. For weddings all in one location and where possible, I arrive early to have a look around and meet the venue staff. It's always possible to work out the best spots for group pictures, confetti moments and portraits on the day ,but we can also discuss this in your planning meeting.

• Can we add on extra hours on the day?

Very occasionally things run a little late or maybe the party is way more rockin' than you expected!? Whatever the reason, it's usually possible to add on extra hours on the day. The price will depend on the coverage you have gone for. I can advise you ahead of the wedding of any rare circumstance that might make it not possible.

• Do you offer video coverage?

Not at the moment. I may add on the option to do a very short highlights film (without audio) in the future but in the meantime I can recommend some great videographers I've had the pleasure to work alongside. It really is better when you have someone focused on just one thing anyway!

• We'd like to book, what's next?

There is a booking fee of £500 to secure your wedding date with me and a few things to click through on my online booking system, it's easy! (I get multiple enquiries for some dates, so please DON'T DELAY!) Then your planning meeting usually take place 2-8 weeks before your wedding, they mostly happen on zoom but for some a quick phone call or a few emails is enough. Your final balance will be due 28 days before the wedding.

Send me a message to check my availability and we can arrange an informal chat on the phone or via zoom!
